Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course students should be able to:

  • Experimentation and Innovation: Students will learn to embrace uncertainty and take calculated risks when developing AI solutions. This includes the use of established techniques to create personalised responses or the development of novel approaches to gain new insights and capabilities in AI.
  • Research and Analysis: Students will master the art of gathering, evaluating, and synthesising diverse ideas, historical context, data, and AI methodologies. This skill will enable them to make informed connections between various sources, enhancing their ability to develop and situate AI projects within a broader context.
  • Engaging with Practice:  Building a deep and continuous engagement with AI processes, technologies, and media is a fundamental aspect of this programme. This engagement goes beyond theoretical knowledge and involves hands-on experience, experimentation, and testing of AI solutions. It also extends to the development of effective written communication in AI and the formulation of strategic approaches within the field.
  • Realisation & Communication: The ability to bring AI projects to fruition and effectively communicate their findings and implications is vital. This involves the practical implementation of AI solutions, testing, and validation, as well as the development of effective written and oral communication skills to convey complex AI concepts and their practical applications.
  • Personal and Professional Connectivity: This outcome emphasises the importance of understanding the professional, cultural, ethical, and social contexts in which AI operates. Students will be encouraged to consider alternative viewpoints, appreciate diversity, and think critically and responsibly about the contexts in which AI solutions are developed. Additionally, they will be required to demonstrate evidence of numeracy, digital literacy, and proficiency in relevant hardware and software tools within the AI domain.
