BSBI hosts summer graduation ceremony for class of 2024

On Tuesday 23 July, the Berlin School of Business and Innovation hosted its summer graduation ceremony at the Estrel Centre in Berlin, celebrating the academic achievements of the class of 2024.

The school’s seventh graduation ceremony was the largest to date, with 1,060 BSBI graduates, of which 220 were in attendance, from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes affiliated with BSBI’s academic partners University of Creative Arts (UCA), Concordia University of Chicago (CUC), and International Telematic University UNINETTUNO.

More than 110 guests attended in person, while hundreds of family members and friends joined online via YouTube livestream.

The ceremony was especially significant as it marked the graduation of the first cohort of MA Visual Communication programme students from the Hamburg campus, in addition to those from the Berlin and Paris campuses, highlighting BSBI’s growth beyond Berlin and the expansion of its alumni network.

The event began with welcoming remarks from Charlotte Saal, Head of Student Services, followed by an inspiring speech from Professor Dr Kyriakos Kouveliotis FRSA, Provost & Chief Academic Officer at BSBI.

Professor Dr Kyriakos said: “The education you received exposed you to new ideas and notions, enabling you to improve your life and the lives of others. It will help you break down barriers and borders. By coming to Germany, to Berlin and to BSBI, you have already achieved that.

“Keep the positive elements, cherish the friends you made here, and above all, be confident and value what you have learned.”

Shwetha Surve, a top achiever from the Global MBA (UCA) programme, said: “Today, as I stand before you, not just as a graduate but also as a member of BSBI staff, I feel immense pride. We did it! Congratulations to everyone.

“As we embark on this next chapter, be bold, be brave, make a difference, keep learning, stay curious and never stop growing. Here’s to a bright and successful future for all of us.”

Chethan Somashekhar, the former student council president for postgraduate students and MBA (CUC) graduate, said: “I developed a strong bond with BSBI, not just as a student, but also as a student representative, voicing our collective needs and aspirations. This role allowed me to witness and contribute to BSBI’s growth, a journey that mirrored my own development.”

Matthew Andrew, MA in Photography graduate and Programme Director for Fashion Image at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), delivered a keynote address at the ceremony.

He said: “We are here today to celebrate your courage and success. Each of you graduating today has shown the dedication and personal commitment that has earned you the right to be here. You should be proud of your accomplishments and the community you are part of. From the day you began your studies with us, everything has been leading up to this moment.”

BSBI congratulates all the graduates and wishes them the best in their future endeavours.
